KUMON

I went to the franchise orientation last week with my sister and sister in law. With hopes and dreams, we went to the Kumon Office. First we were introduced with Kumon's method of learning. Quite amazing because it never crossed to my mind that Kumon actually teach more than just Math and English. It actually encourage moral values to the children. First thing i said to myself, wow..this must be good or else it wont survive for more than decades. Firstly i admit that i registered for the sake of my sister. She insisted me following her to the orientation. I was a bit reluctant but did register eventually. She also informed that there will be a test on that day so i said arrogantly, "ah a simple test only, why must you afraid of it." But when i opened the question paper, with wide opened eyes i said to myself, "this must be real. I haven't done Calculus for years. i even forgotten the concept of integral. Phew! this IS CHALLENGING." The questions are tough for me who haven't practising calculus, fractions, factorial, etc for sometimes and have been always calculating using calculators. The allocated time was only 1 hour and i have to pass the test in order to get to the next step of becoming Kumon instructor.
Eventually there were only 8 ppl passed the test out of 32 who took the test.

Good experience though because i'm thinking of opening a new Kumon centre in the near future. Anyway i should practise doing some difficult Math calculations without the calculator after this...hehehe...

Emergency

Last week aku temankan adik ipar aku pegi jenjalan kat Alamanda. Biasa la org Melaka datang area sini, so aku bawak jer la dia g jenjalan. Weekdays, itu jer la tempat paling dekat, Jusco tak siap lagi kat area rumah aku ni. Lepas beli barang kat Carrefour we all headed to the other side of the building. Sambil lalu depan Reject Shop tu, aku perasan ada sorang mak ni sedang tolak trolley Carrefour gak and tetiba terjerit nama anak dia. Aku pelik memula. Ingat apa hal la minah ni buat scene, sekali tu baru perasan anak dia tercekik. Aku tgk muka anak dia dah biru and muka pompuan tu pun dah pucat. Aku pun sebenarnya panik gak sebab first time tgk. Tetiba hubby aku tanya pompuan tu boleh handle ke, then pompuan tu geleng. Terus hubby aku ambil budak tu then buat something la kat budak tu and nasib baik keluar benda yg dok menyebabkan dia tercekik tu. Rupanya budak tu dok makan Mentos. Baru la budak tu boleh bernafas. Lepas tu hubby aku serahkan budak tu pada mak dia. Aku macam tengok wayang gambar lak sebab tergamam. Aku tanya gak hubby aku mana dia belajar cara nak keluarkan tu. Dia bagitahu kat Channel Discovery Astro. So after that we all pun pergi tpt lain. Moral of the story : Jgn bagi anak makan Mentos kalau pegi shopping berdua ngan anak jer. Kalau anak tercekik, kita pun panik, BAHAYA!

Lunch hour

Hari ni kene drive balik. Semalam dah syok syok hubby hantar g tpt keje. Best jugak kan kalau g keje org anto. Takde la nak pk nak lalu jalan mana, nak parking ler(aku bab parking ni mmg lemah sket). Smlm pun lunch ngan hubby aku. Dia cuti so bole la dia jemput aku g lunch kat Alamanda. Lepas lunch sempat dia ajak aku g tgk Mitsubishi Lancer yg baru tu. Masuk ni dah 2 kali dia dok ajak aku tgk keter yg sama. Hmm..nak beli keter, maleh la nak pk sebab nak sambung hutang lagi, pastu nak kene pk duit maintenance nya lagi...Byk ringgit terlibat nanti. Lain ler kot gaji aku 5k bole la sambo satu.
Pastu aku g Mc D sebab Miza ngan Ayin suh tapau Mc Chicken. Beratur panjang gak. Punya la lama beratur aku pusing belakang sekali ternampak muka yg aku kenal tapi nama dia aku lupa. So aku just tegur dia without mentioned her name. Karang salah nama haru jer. Sepanjang perbualan kami mmg aku tak sebut langsung nama dia. Pastu bila dah sampai opis aku tanya Miza nama minah yg aku jumpa tu. Rupanya Florence...hehehe jauh lari drp sangkaan aku sebab aku dok terpk pk nama minah tu sama ada Wendy tak pun Winnie. Nasib baik aku tak sebut, kalau tak, isk malu....
So pada sesapa yg kalau aku tegur tapi tak sebut nama tu memang aku terlupa nama bukan buat buat lupa. Mintak mahap bebanyak ler...

Tsunamiwang

Ni cerita pasal tsunamiwang. Memula aku tak caya sangat ler bende ni but just give it a try. Lagipun setakat 50 bucks i think tak de la mahal sangat. Kalau nak kena tipu pun aku tak rasa teruk sangat kehilangan 50 compared to last time aku pernah kehilangan lebih banyak drp tu. Tak masuk lagi dengan org pinjam duit tak bayar. Tapi nak buat macam mana, experience tu beb, walaupun ada org kata experience buduh but still i think it taught me something.

Back to the tsunamiwang la. Last week aku dapat satu email from maybank saying that ada org transfer duit kat aku. Then aku pun check my account, memang betul. Best gak eh. Kira dah break even aa modal aku tu. Syok jugak macam ni. Aku pun tak de la promote gegila tsunamiwang ni tapi bila dapat duit free free masuk dalam akaun terasa best gak. Aku bagitau kat adik aku tapi dia cakap dia dah masuk and member kakak aku dah dapat 800 ari tu thru this tsunamiwang. Kira ada org lagi dapat byk daripada aku, nampak sangat aku ni jenis tak promote langsung compared to others hehehe...Hmm tak per la sapa teringin masuk ler sapa tak nak aku pun tak leh nak paksa. It's up to you. Lagipun sapa aku nak paksa orang. Aku bukannya pemerintah negeri pun nak paksa paksa org, tak pun bukan boss pun nak paksa staff jual X-pax...kekeke....

Kene tahan polis

Hari isnin lalu aku trapped in a traffic jam masa nak pegi KL office. Dah la jem giler, pastu ada pulak tetiba sorang polis ni pi tahan aku. Then dia tanya ada masuk lorong kecemasan tak tadi? Isk apa punya soalan le ni. Aku dengan selamba jawab tak de. Dah tentu tentu aku memang tak masuk lorong kecemasan. Aku pergi lane kiri pun sebab dah nak masuk simpang ke Tmn Desa tu. Takkan la nak masuk ke kiri stay kat lane tengah lagi. Pastu polis tu pun suruh aku blah. Apa la merepek polis ni? Takkan tak de procedure cara nak tahan kereta? Setakat tanya gitu gitu, kalau aku buat salah pun aku takkan ngaku. But since aku dah memang tak buat salah pun so lantak ko ler nak tahan seribu kereta sehari dengan kaedah tu.

Mgr vs SA

Aku bosan ngan Mamat and Minah ni. Dedua ni menyakitkan hati aku ler. Sorang tu sesedap mulut jer persalahkan aku depan Big Boss. Ada ker patut??? Dia tak request kat aku pun tapi suka hati jer nak salahkan aku. Benda kecik macam tu pun nak cakap dlm meeting.

Yang sorang lagi ni main sedap jer suruh aku buat itu ini and pas tu dia take the credit. Ah bosan aku ngan diaorg ni tau. Asal bab proses jer suruh aku buat tapi nanti diaorg gak dpt nama. Semua nak suruh aku buat, testing aku, CMMI aku, QA aku gak. Macam la gaji aku 5 angka. Yang bergaji 5 angka tu pun tak reti nak generate report, itu pun suruh aku gak buat. Pastu dia dpt credit kata dia yg keluarkan report. Memang mangkuk. Yang sorang lagi ni aku suruh buat lain dia buat benda lain pastu ada hati nak argue ngan aku. Benda yang dia argue tu pun salah. Masalahnya yang buat aku bosan ni semuanya bertaraf MGR ke atas. Kerja simple pun suruh aku gak buat. Lain ler kalau aku ni yang tak reti sebab aku ni kuli jer. Ini decision making pun nak suruh aku buat gak. Abih tu daorg ni buat kerja apa eh? Takkan amik minit jer kot? Tak pun takkan setakat htr virus alert jer?

Different view

Sepanjang aku training CMMI last week aku berkesempatan duduk satu group dengan seorang VP satu organisasi yg agak besar kat Malaysia ni. Satu perkara yang aku suka pasal this guy sebab cara pemikiran dia. Sungguh pun dia ni bangsa asing yang selalunya aku rasa agak kedekut ilmu tapi dia lain sket. Byk jugak aku tanya, baik dari segi sosial mahupun dr segi kerja. Aku ada tanya dia satu soalan mengenai target dia utk jadi the next COO in the company. Dia bagitau he got a long way to go sebab katanya bukan senang nak jadi seorang ketua dlm organisasi yang besar..salah satu criteria yang perlu ada is perlu jadi seorang "Story teller utk get the bisnes" Katanya kalau kita pandai buat kerja sahaja tapi tak pandai bercerita atau menjual idea tu tak guna jugak and kita tak bole nak move forward. Kita akan stick to current position for a long time. Ada jugak strategy thinking yg dia bagitau sesikit.
Byk jugak perkara aku belajar drp dia ni and i hope can learn more from him in the future.

I wish my boss could have more "human touch" dlm diri dia. he did mention dia tak kisah kalau org tak suka buat kerja yg diberikan as long as that person deliver the work. Berbeza dgn pendapat org-org yg aku kenal 2-3 hari ni. They enjoy with what they are doing and they deliver the best out of it. Hmm bagi aku if u really enjoy with what u r doing, u dont mind if the boss will impress with your work or not as long as you know that you have delivered what it takes to exceed the expectations. Sort of self satisfactions. You can lie to other people but you just can't lie to yourself if you r not satifisfied. If you r not happy and enjoy with the work, then u akan jadi malas setiap hari and kerja pun tak ikhlas. Buat kerja macam separuh mati sebab dah tak ada hati.

Training...some more training

Last week i had to attend to 2 different courses. Well the courses were great. One was for Software testing and another one was for this CMMI that i've been seriously involved in for the last 10 months. This is the official course for CMMI and the trainer comes all the way from SEI. I took ERL from Putrajaya to KL Sentral. For the first training which was held in Concorde i got to take another Putra LRT from Kl Sentral to get there. The journey wasn't bad at all bcoz i could just sit and enjoy it...from KL Sentral -> Putrajaya. Wasn't that long anyway. Only 30 min i guess.

The second training was held at Le Meridien Hotel. Hmm the food was lovely but as for me, i can't take seafood and chicken so i just can't taste it. But from the expressions that my friends made convinced me that the food is delicious. Ah never mind, i can skip that.

The CMMI trainer was quite strict in terms of timing and schedule. When he said we should be in by 9, we should be there by 9. Maybe becoz he needs to catch the flight to UK right after finish doing the course with us.
